15 year old Samantha, who goes by Sam, grew up quickly living in a small rural community in a heavily forested landscape. She is responsible, resourceful, and dedicated to her Family.

Sam knows life is difficult for her family and that her and her sister’s existence have caused their mother great suffering. As a result Sam tries to make herself as useful as possible, helping her mother with everything and anything.

When it comes to her little sister, Molly, Sam is resentful that Molly can be so carefree. Which leads Sam to lash out at Molly whenever Molly’s foolishness gets in her way and interferes with her tasks.

8 year old Molly has had a pretty fun life up until this point. She has a loving mother and a great older sister, even if she’s a bit of a stick in the mud. Molly has full run of the family home, running here and there, playing her games.

But the one place she wants to explore she isn’t allowed to, the Woods.

Molly loves her family a lot especially her sister which is why she plays so many jokes on her. She is desperately searching for the thing that will make Sam laugh and start being more fun.
